Born and raised in the Outer Hebrides, Eilidh always had a love/hate relationship with her quiet home. Her desire to travel and live abroad taught her how lucky she was to have grown up in such a unique place.
It all started in 2013 while working in a mining town in the middle of the Australian desert. She was 19 and unsure of what to pursue in life and she missed her tiny island terribly.
One day, she came across an online shop that could burn your country onto the cover of journals. She instantly fell in love.
The shipping price to the Australian desert was more than the cost of the journal but it didn't matter. No one could put a price on home. She chose the Isle of Lewis and put a heart on Stornoway. Every time she used it, she felt comforted that home would always be there.
Most of 2019/20 was spent in the South of France, but Scotland was never far from her mind. She remembered the feeling the journal gave her all those years ago and soon found herself designing images of Scottish islands as she wanted to create a piece of art that would remind an islander of their true home, no matter where they were in the world.
From this, an unexpected business was born with the knowledge that customers all over the world can be reminded of their roots, because of her maps.
