Born and raised in Bridport, Peter had a passion for art and painting from a young age. His grandfather was an artist and he would see his paintings hanging in his house whenever he would visit. Art was his favourite subject at school, and he was always doodling, but he didn’t progress his studies after A-Levels.
Peter rediscovered his passion for painting when his grandmother gave him his grandad's art equipment after he passed away and he felt it was his duty to put them to good use. He started off trying to paint in his grandad's style, with a more classical approach but soon moved on to the bolder nightscape paintings you see from him today.
After ten years serving in The Corps of Army music (now The Royal Corps of Army Music) and painting mainly as a hobbyist, he decided to leave the armed forces and focus solely on his art. He now gets to call art his job, a dream come true. He enjoys painting in oils and also uses drawing apps to create digital works. He absolutely loves to create art and finds inspiration in so many other artists, past and present.
Peter reached the final of the Art Unlimited Open Art Competition in 2023 with two of his pieces, which he credits as his proudest accomplishment of his Artist career so far.
